heyheyhey!

So uh, Happy New Year!
Don't look at me like that. I'm only.... only 1.5 months late ;)
...But really, I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to update this blog! I can't even remember what was the last time I've gone more than a month without doing so. This year has just been so incredibly busy and I haven't really had the time to organize thoughts about my life in a fashion organized enough for the blog, not to mention to develop moderately intelligent opinions about current events. Lucky for me, this afternoon was the start of our school's President's Day Weekend, which gives me the time to sleep catch up on writing, reading, fangirling, and a lot of other tasks (including blogging!) that I've been meaning to do but have just fallen behind on.

For now, here're a few snapshots from my life recently:

[a] Me in the moss knit circle scarf I made over the course of Winter Break! It's super soft and warm and perfect for cold weather (I also knitted ~10 baby hats to send to the local community hospital to give to newborns, yay!)
[b] After hearing that my dad was heading over to San Jose to go shopping for Asian groceries, I convinced him to stop by Kinokuniya bookstore in hopes that I could find the January 2011 issue of Potato w/ Arashi on the cover. Of course, I had no such luck. However, we did buy a ton of delicious food, including this cream bun which I had for breakfast the next day.
[c] Some of my soccer gear, sweaty and muddy and disgusting after a game against Gonzales. This team became a pretty big influence on my school life this quarter, and I'm really glad to have been a part of it.
[d] I AM NOW A PRO AT MAKING EGG SALAD. I don't even need to have the recipe in front of me! SO TASTY AND EASY TO MAKE. BEST EVER.
[e] Nails in honor of Valentine's Day. While I'm aware that there's about a 110% chance that I'll end up ~forever alone~, I don't need anyone except myself to shower me with love: I can still treat myself to gratuitous amounts of chocolate and shower myself with self praise! ;)
[f] Part of a pile of tissues that collected in my bedroom trashcan after suffering two consecutive colds. I *never* get sick. Having a runny nose that necessitated blowing every 10 seconds and a sore throat with a cough every 5 seconds made for a very disgruntled Karen.

All this afternoon I delighted in the glory of having time-to-not-have-to-do-homework by reading the news (lol what? I'm such a nerd), watching yesterday's episode of Glee (which I missed because of getting home exhausted from our last soccer match), and eating a lot. For the rest of tonight I'm planning on watching Bartender, Aiba Masaki's new drama, reading a magazine or two, and sleeping. Hopefully I can wake up tomorrow energized to work on the application for the Japanese Summer Intensive program I want to go to (it's a graduate level program so they don't readily accept minors, but I won't mind the work if it's something that I love, and I know I can handle it!), do a little cooking, and maybe take an SAT practice test (OH GOD IT'S STARTING!). Isn't it awesome that I plan out all of my free time? I live an exciting life...

Anyway, because the soccer season is over, I get to throw out those ratty cleats, sleep a little more often, study a little harder, and (knock on wood) blog here more often!
